The Scuba Curriculum is rich with engaging lessons and activities that keep the kids active and involved in each station. However, one size does not always fit all when it comes to VBS! Sometimes additional activities are in order—maybe for some extra engagement during snack time or dinner; perhaps during the time when kids arrive early; heaven forbid we have a stormy VBS day, but when it happens some improvising can be required; and extra activities can be helpful as follow up activities for kids to take home or to use on Sundays. Not every church is able to purchase the preschool activities, so some of the free printables here might provide some fun options.
Each of the resources below is available for download as a pdf file and/or image. In many cases, I have also provided the Canva Template Link so that you may edit the file to make it better meet your needs.

When the weather doesn’t cooperate, here is a list of some on-theme games that can be played indoors in smaller spaces.
Need dot markers? They can be a little pricey, but the decent ones last awhile. I found this set on Amazon—pretty good reviews and less expensive than a lot of the others. Snack time? Arrival time? Rainy day? This versatile cube is a great way to get kiddos talking. Put one in each crew bag or on the tables during snack. OR…Enlarge each square and tape it to the side of a cube-shaped box for even more fun tossing it around a room!
Did you ever make a Cootie Catcher when you were a kid? My daughter loves them!
This is another fun filler activity that gives kids the option of doing something active or answering a VBS-themed question. The Canva Link below will allow you to change it up as needed.
We love to put a booklet together for the kiddos at our VBS. In it we include various activities to reinforce the learning from each day, the Scriptures that correspond with the Bible stories that were told, a recap of the learning, etc.
Here is a daily puzzle sheet that can be used as part of a booklet or as a stand-alone activity. If the majority of your church kids come to VBS, these can also be used during the Sundays that follow VBS as a fun review.
Here’s a fun additional activity for the older kids: A finish-the-picture activity for each day that corresponds with the Bible story.
We include these in our booklet as well. The recap of the story with an emphasis on how it connects to the daily Bible point is a great reinforcement at home.
Here’s some cute on-theme fun for the preschoolers! 6 sea animal puppets await their imaginations. All you need are clothespins, crayons, glue and scissors (and the printouts, of course). These would be a great motivator for the kiddos to practice a memory verse too!
For your kiddos who love to color, here’s a page for each day. Want to have the Scuba buddies instead? Use the Canva Template Link to swap out the pictures for the Group Publisher Line Art Buddies.
Canva had some great color-by-number starters that I modified for Scuba. Here’s another option for extra time, crew leader bags, snack time, dinner tables, rainy days, follow up events, etc. The jpg and pdf files are both available below.
If you think Bingo is all about numbers, you are sorely mistaken! We all know that sometimes things happen and don’t go as planned. Last year I made an action-based Stellar Bingo and a number of churches were able to use it on stormy days, during a follow-up event, etc.
With 20 different Bingo cards, you can either play this individually (if your group is small enough) or as crews working together. The fun activities included are sure to keep your kiddos moving and laughing.

Here is a joke page/poster for each day of the week. Put them all up or change them daily. Or use them while waiting to kick off each day, during snack time, etc.
