I am so excited that Group chose the Amazon rainforest as our setting this year. How fun is that?! The colors, the sounds, the animals… it’s basically an instant adventure. I can already picture the kids stepping into a world full of towering trees, winding rivers, colorful birds, butterflies, monkeys, frogs, and all kinds of jungle surprises. I cannot wait to help bring the rainforest to life for VBS!
While a lot of decorating ideas don’t translate into a downloadable file, I’m sharing as many ideas as I can, along with any files I’ve created, right here on this site.
Each of the resources below is available to download as a PDF and/or image. In many cases, I’ve also included a Canva template link so you can easily edit things and make them work perfectly for your space.
Just a quick reminder that I always stick to Group’s copyright guidelines. Their clipart is for church use only, which means we can’t share designs with each other if their artwork is included. That’s why I use alternate clipart in my designs. You’re always welcome to swap my clipart out for artwork from Group or from other publishers that fit the rainforest theme.
Please give me feedback regarding any issues with these resources as well as any additional resources you would find helpful.

BIBLE VERSE POSTERS

I love Group’s big Bible verse posters. The colors are bright, the paper quality is great, and we always order at least one set for VBS.
That said, we also like having the Bible verses posted all over the place in common areas and in every classroom so Scripture is always in front of the kids. Buying multiple sets from Group just isn’t in the budget for us, so I make my own versions that can be printed on 11″ x 17″ paper.
We’re lucky to have a great printer at our church, which makes it easy to print several sets and spread them throughout the building. I’ve shared the Canva template link and a PDF file here in case they’re helpful for you too.

POSTER BANNER
When Walgreens and CVS run their 70% off poster deals, you can get a 6′ banner for under $10. This is another printing option for posters on photo quality paper that are around 22″ x 14″ (versus printing on 17″ x 11″ paper). Here’s a high-quality png image that will work for banner printing (just click to enlarge it on your screen and then right click to save it as a png on your computer).

GROUP’S RAINFOREST FALLS BIBLE VERSE POSTERS
Group’s Bible verse posters are 22″ x 34″ and are gorgeous! $15.99 really seems like a great price. I don’t know of anywhere I can have such large posters printed for a tad over $3 each. Click the image to go straight to their order form.
BIBLE STORY POSTERS
Group makes big, beautiful Bible story posters, and if they fit in your budget, I definitely recommend grabbing them. The artwork really is gorgeous.
If you’ve purchased the digital resources and/or the clipart CD, you also have access to that same artwork for each Bible story. That makes it easy to create extra posters or kid-friendly pages that match Group’s official look.
Over on the Activities Resources page of this site, I’ll be sharing Bible story coloring pages. Here, I’ve included very similar pages in full color (both 8.5″ x 11″ and 11″ x 17″) in case you’d like to post a few extra Bible story reminders around your space.

CREW SIGNS

We’ve somehow landed on alliterated crew names as a tradition. Yes, it’s a little corny, but the kids love it! For crew signs, I always aim for something that adds to the décor without taking forever to make.
This year, I decided to create one Amazon rainforest animal for every letter of the alphabet. I wasn’t sure I could pull it off, but it worked (with a few creative stretches)!

Love the concept but want different adjectives or need more than 26 crews? No problem. The Canva template links let you fully customize everything, or you can grab the ready-to-use PDFs below and print only what you need.
Our crews are divided into 4 colored groups that travel together throughout the day. Their crew number and color will be on the back of their crew sign.

Crews are divided into six or seven color groups, so I’ve included crew numbers in 8 different colors. All 26 numbers are available in each color so you can print exactly what your program needs. Again, the Canva template is here for your tweaking, and 2 pdf files are below for your printing.
One set of signs will stay in our sanctuary to mark where each crew sits during Sing & Play Tune Lagoon and Canopy Closing. We’ll make them as an adopt-a-prop project or at a decorating party. Each sign is printed on cardstock and mounted back-to-back with an animal on one side and the crew number on the other. We’ll add some Cricut leaves before attaching them back-to-back and then let a nice paper vine hang around the dowel to give a nice rainforest vibe.
We also make handheld crew signs using donated paint sticks from Walmart or Home Depot. The kids love carrying them as they travel from station to station.

These signs require color printing. If you are able to do them at your church, here is a nice option for the cardstock.
TRAIL SIGNS

More easy printables! These are designed to print on 11″ x 17″ paper and make for quick, no-fuss décor. There are four different styles to choose from…you can even mix ‘them ’em up and use a few of each. Each design has 45 signs ready to go.
All but one are intentionally rectangular so you can skip the cutting step if you’re short on time. At most, you might just want a quick trim with the paper cutter to cut off the white edges. The green vines on some of the designs are on purpose so they blend right in with all that rainforest greenery in your décor.
The Canva link includes all four styles if you’d like to tweak anything or add your own touches. You’ll also find the pdf’s for each style below. Note: Due to the size of the files, I split the signs into multiple pdf files for each design (except the wooden sign with the vines around it–it’s all in 1 file).
ANIMAL FUN FACTS POSTERS
Sometimes you just need a little décor filler. Something easy, but still fun. These Fun Facts posters each spotlight an animal from the Amazon rainforest and are perfect for filling in those random empty spots.
I’m not totally sure yet where all of ours will end up, but I’m planning to tuck them into any open spaces we have. Maybe even the restrooms. Why not?
You’re welcome to download the JPG (click the image to enlarge it, then right-click and save it to your computer), grab the 11″ x 17″ PDF, or use the Canva link if you’d like to make your own edits.

FUN FACT COLORING PAGES
I have found that the kiddos connect way better with all the animals in our themes than they do with the lovely flowers, trees, etc. Here are the same Fun Facts as the above posters in some coloring pages for the kids. These can also serve as an alternative to the posters above. If you don’t have access to an affordable way to print in color, print these posters and let the kids in your church color them. They will love seeing their own handiwork on the walls!
